When it comes to our skin, we always want to look our best.  Wrinkles, aging spots, scars (no matter how small) and acne are all things we don’t want to see when we look in the mirror.  Unfortunately, our self image correlates with our self esteem and if we are unhappy with our appearance, our self esteem suffers.  Your local cosmetic clinic can help you with a variety of services meant to help you accomplish your best look.

Treatments without Lasers

To be fair, there are several treatment options that do not involve using laser equipment.  One common method you likely have heard of is a chemical peel.  These come in varying strengths to treat issues like discoloration, age spots,  and to soften lines and wrinkles.  There are several problems with these types of treatments including higher risk of infection, swollen or red skin, and pigmentation issues.  Depending how strong the chemical used, it can take a week to several months of down time. For example, if your skin is prone to breakouts or very sensitive, this abrasive treatment will likely further exacerbate your skin condition.

Pulsed Dye Lasers

PDL or pulsed-dye lasers use dye as a medium for treating skin conditions.  Different dyes reach different wavelengths, each providing a different type of treatment.  This method is for spider veins, stretch marks, rosacea and other conditions.  Common side effects include bruising and pigmentation changes, which makes it a little less desirable for cosmetic issues, but more effective on medical issues.

CO2 Lasers

Carbon Dioxide lasers, or CO2 lasers use gas to act as a continuous wave laser and produce an infrared light to target the skin.  When they first came out, CO2 lasers required a long recovery time.  Later, fractional CO2 lasers debuted and required only 2 to 3 weeks of recovery time, plus were a gentler treatment. Both of these types of lasers are still used, so make certain to ascertain which type of CO2 laser they use or you might be in for a rude surprise.

If you have either Asian or darker skin tones or if you have acne, you need to avoid this type of laser use.

IPL Lasers

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) lasers use an intense pulse of light to target specific cells in the body, heating them up until they are absorbed back into the body.  A cooling device is part of the IPL laser to prevent overheating the skin.  IPL’s are frequently used for hair removal, collagen production, and to improve skin elasticity.

If you have darker tones of skin or irregular patches, you should avoid IPL treatments as they use light to treat the skin.  Hyper pigmentation and further discoloration can result.

The Smartest Option

There are many more types of lasers available.  Check with the local clinics to find what they offer and what they recommend for your skin condition.  As always, speak with your physician or dermatologist to find out what they suggest as they know you best.  It’s important to select the treatment that will provide the results you want and that will work on you skin care needs.

Hi all, today I will share with you a very serious and common problem that we men deal with and most of us during our youth. Baldness.

Being bald or losing hair as the years go by, for whatever reason, is always a hit under the belt. It is similar to women wanting bigger breasts, it is a matter of self-esteem and wanting to look good. I did a research that I am sharing with you below about what new medical technologies are used to help men mostly, restore their hair and self-confidence.

Hair loss is one of the most common male specific disorders in the world and as much as several hundred million men are affected by it.

While there are countless solutions that promise they can end baldness or at least make it more bearable, there is currently no wide scale solution that is both effective and affordable so that anyone who is battling baldness can use. However, that is about to change soon.

New studies made on nanotechnology in hair transplantation

The use of nanotechnology in hair transplantation has been considered many years ago, but it was something that many viewed as a part of a science fiction movie and therefore it didn’t convince people it would become reality but in a very long time. However, a team of doctors in Singapore have made significant progress making use of nanotechnology in order to cure baldness and engineered a new hair follicle model that plays a pivotal role in the discovery of new medications for people suffering from androgenetic alopecia.

In an interview, Professor Jackie Ying who is also the Executive director of IBN said that the progress they made is huge and that it’s going to greatly change the way we look at baldness and shorten the time necessary to find a cure. He continued to say that the model they created allows them to better understand how the various mechanisms in charge of the growth and development of hair follicles work and that hopefully, their studies are going to lead to new products that can finally cure baldness.

Understanding the structure of the hair follicle

Hair follicles are regenerating organs which will produce a new hair shaft throughout each growth cycle. The cycle itself depends on the interaction between the dermal papilla cells and the epithelial cells. In order to study these interactions closely, using a three dimensional hair follicle would be very useful and it can help pave the way towards discovering new treatments for both female and male pattern baldness.

The 3D hair follicle

After years of research, the IBN finally managed to come up with a three dimensional hair follicle model that perfectly imitates the cell arrangement and size of a human hair follicle. Their achievement was possible thanks to the combination of 2 types of hair cells, including keratinocytes and dermal papilla cells.

Results of preliminary tests

The researchers at IBN went ahead with their experiments and decided to put their theory to test and implanted these cells into mice. The cells grew into hair structures that looked very natural and helped them achieve a great milestone in the battle against pattern baldness.

This is a groundbreaking technology that can be easily used by pharmaceutical companies which, thanks to their large funding, can clearly finance the research and find a cure for baldness much faster. On top of that, it’s also a revolutionary technology that would help consumer care companies since it makes it possible for them to screen the active ingredients in the many personal care products they commercialize.

It is a pleasure to write this post as I know that “sharing is caring” and through my experiences shared on this blog, I will possibly reach other men in this world that we have come up against the same issues in our personal life.

Here are more information about the personal diary ebook I have written and you can inquire to get it here.

As a quote says, always be strong as you never know who you can inspire through your strength and open-ness.

When I was in my twenties, all I cared about was being with girls and having fun. Who doesn’t anyway? I was in a serious relationship with a girl for 3 years and was pretty much in love and totally faithful to her as she was to me.

Due to some personal family problems my gf had to leave Denver where we were living together and move to Italy. We eventually had to break up and move on with our live separately.

It was not easy for me as I got depressed and did not care anymore about how I look, I was feeling already dead inside. So this story went on and I finally managed to look like a totally different man, ugly and fat and miserable.

When it was obvious that I couldn’t become worse, I got a grip. My friends and family made bold efforts to get me back on track and persuade me that this cannot go on forever. Time to get out of bed and start living again. I so thank them all for that.

I was in a constant effort to improve my psychology and my ugly transformed body for 5 years until I felt content by seeing my image in the mirror. What a feeling. I have also become a fitness freak now and spend 2 hours a day 5 days a week at the gym which happens to be very close to my home.

I have regained my confidence and can say that I am a happy person inside, appreciating life and each moment for the simple beauty it has to offer.

My professional life is at a very good level and as i keep going, I will soon reach my goals at the company I work for as a medical technology assistant at a medical practice in my area.

I work with cosmetic surgeons and physicians and I connect with people every day who want to try to gain their life back and self confidence by making a decision to improve their looks and their psychology. Either we choose a natural way to do this or ask for a medical expert’s help, it is a road we ought to ourself to take.

That said, I welcome you all (men and women) and hope you will enjoy yourself here.

Respectfully,

Joe
